ATC Approves Challan in Mustafa Amir Murder Case; Accused Confesses to Burning Victim Alive

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi has approved the challan in the shocking murder case of Mustafa Amir, transferring the case to a trial court for formal proceedings.

According to police reports, the challan confirms that the primary accused, Armaghan, has confessed to the gruesome killing of Mustafa Amir. The document states that Armaghan admitted to kidnapping, torturing, and ultimately burning the victim alive by setting fire to his vehicle with Mustafa locked inside.

The case was initially registered on the complaint of Mustafa Amir’s mother, who reported his kidnapping on January 6. After a month-long investigation, police raided a bungalow in Karachi’s Defense Khayaban-e-Momin area on February 8 in an effort to recover the victim.

During the raid, the suspects opened fire on the police, resulting in injuries to three officers, including a DSP. The police arrested Armaghan during the encounter. His co-accused, Shiraz, was later apprehended as well.

Details of the Confession

In his statement, Armaghan revealed the harrowing details of the crime. He and Shiraz had locked Mustafa in the trunk of a car, then set the vehicle on fire, resulting in the victim's death. The brutality of the crime has sent shockwaves through the city and sparked calls for swift justice.

The managing judge of the Anti-Terrorism Courts approved the challan after reviewing the investigation, confessions, and forensic evidence. The case has now been formally handed over to the trial court for prosecution.

Ongoing Investigation and Public Reaction

Authorities have indicated that further investigation is ongoing, particularly to determine the motive behind the murder and whether any additional suspects were involved.

The incident has drawn public outrage, with civil society and legal experts demanding that the culprits be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Social media platforms have also been flooded with calls for justice under the hashtags #JusticeForMustafa and #EndViolence.

As the trial nears, all eyes will be on the court proceedings to ensure accountability and justice in one of Karachi’s most horrifying recent murder cases.
