Attack on Cadet College Wana Foiled, 2 Terrorists Killed; Clearance Operation Underway

Security forces successfully foiled a terrorist attack on Cadet College Wana, killing 2 Indian-sponsored Khawarij and trapping 3 others inside the college premises, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The attackers, identified as part of the banned group Fitna-ul-Khawarij, attempted to breach the college’s security and rammed an explosive-laden vehicle at the main gate, causing damage to the entrance and nearby infrastructure. The operation prevented a potential repeat of past atrocities, including the APS Peshawar attack.

The ISPR stated that the terrorists inside the college are in contact with their handlers in Afghanistan, receiving real-time instructions. Pakistan reserves the right to respond against the leadership and sponsors of such groups operating from Afghan territory.

A clearance operation is currently underway to neutralize the trapped terrorists. The ISPR emphasized that counter-terrorism measures will continue unhindered under the national resolve to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.

“The goal of these Khawarij is to spread fear among the youth of tribal areas, but Pakistan’s security forces remain vigilant and ready to protect its citizens and institutions,” the ISPR said.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns over the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan despite assurances from the Afghan Taliban, underscoring regional security challenges.
