Hyderabad Gas Cylinder Shop Explosion Death Toll Rises to 14

The death toll from the devastating gas cylinder shop explosion in Hyderabad’s Pretabad area has increased to 14, according to Dr. Khalid Bukhari from MS Civil Hospital Karachi. Three additional victims succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment in the Civil Burns Ward.

Dr. Bukhari reported that nine injured individuals are still undergoing treatment at the hospital, with seven in critical condition. Tragically, two of the deceased were reported to have suffered 100% burns.

The explosion occurred a few days ago, causing a massive fire that spread quickly, severely damaging nearby buildings and injuring several people. The victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency care.

In response to the incident, all LPG shops in Hyderabad have been closed. The Deputy Commissioner has announced that businesses dealing in LPG must now obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Additionally, LPG shops will no longer be permitted to operate in populated areas and will be relocated to highways to ensure public safety.

The explosion and subsequent fire have highlighted the urgent need for stringent safety measures in the handling and sale of LPG. Authorities are now focused on preventing such tragic incidents in the future by enforcing stricter regulations on the LPG business.
