POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

PTI founder Imran Khan has directed the party’s accountability committee to investigate alleged corruption and ministerial performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and submit a detailed report by May.
According to Geo News, following Khan’s instructions, the PTI accountability committee has begun summoning provincial ministers to review financial records and governance matters.
Accountability Process Underway
Committee member Qazi Anwar Advocate confirmed that:
- All ministers, advisors, and aides will be required to submit performance reports.
- The usage of funds and financial expenditures will be scrutinized.
- A final report will be compiled and presented to Imran Khan in early May.
The move comes as PTI faces increasing pressure regarding governance in KP, a province it has ruled since 2013. This accountability drive is expected to shed light on governance issues and reinforce PTI’s stance against corruption.
Political Impact & Reactions
Political analysts suggest this step is aimed at maintaining party discipline and ensuring transparency within the KP government. It also comes amid wider political and legal challenges facing PTI, as the party continues to navigate pressure from opposition forces and state institutions.
The accountability report could have significant implications for KP’s political landscape, especially with the next general elections approaching.
