A new administrative committee of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been constituted, comprising four sitting judges. A formal notification for the formation of the committee has been issued by the Registrar of the High Court with the approval of Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar.
According to the notification, the new committee will be led by Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar, while Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, and Justice Azam Khan will serve as members.
The IHC Administrative Committee holds significant authority as it is responsible for all administrative decisions within the High Court, including case distribution, judicial policy, and internal management matters.
This reshuffling marks a change from the previous 3-member administrative committee, which was headed by former Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and included Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro.
The formation of the new committee is viewed as an important administrative step under the new Chief Justice’s leadership, aiming to bring efficiency and strengthen internal judicial governance.
Legal observers believe that with the inclusion of four judges instead of three, the committee now reflects a broader consensus on administrative matters and may bring greater transparency and institutional continuity to the IHC's internal operations.
