KP CM Sohail Afridi Directs Strict Action Against Drug Suppliers and Manufacturers

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sohail Afridi has called for stringent measures against drug manufacturers and suppliers in the province, emphasizing that eradicating drugs, particularly heroin and ice, is inevitable.

During a high-level meeting chaired by CM Afridi, officials discussed strategies to curb drug supply and distribution across the province. The chief minister highlighted the alarming spread of drugs in universities and warned that negligence could no longer be tolerated.

“We cannot afford any more negligence. Steps must be taken to protect our youth from the scourge of drugs. Eradicating drugs, especially heroin and ice, is inevitable,” he said.

Afridi directed the adoption of a comprehensive strategy, including the formation of joint teams comprising multiple departments and institutions to take action against major drug suppliers and dealers. He stressed the need for a zero-tolerance policy, urging authorities to ensure that operations are based on facts and executed effectively.

The chief minister also emphasized that seized drugs must be destroyed and prevented from re-entering the market. “No matter what, no one should be harassed. Action should be taken on a real basis. The government will provide full cooperation,” he added.

This announcement underscores the provincial government’s commitment to tackling the growing drug menace and safeguarding the younger generation from the dangers of narcotics.
