PTI Leader Taimur Jhagra Prevented from Traveling Abroad Due to PNIL Listing

PTI leader and former provincial minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra has been barred from leaving the country, sources confirmed on Friday.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Jhagra said he was scheduled to travel to Georgetown University in Washington DC to attend an event. However, immigration officials at Bacha Khan Airport refused his departure, citing that his name is listed on the Pakistan No-Fly List (PNIL) and that his passport is inactive.

Jhagra stated that he had written a letter to the Interior Secretary regarding his travel ten days prior but did not receive a response. Concerned about the delay, he personally submitted the letter to the Interior Ministry before attempting to leave.

This development comes amid rising political tensions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with several PTI leaders facing restrictions and scrutiny from authorities. The incident has sparked debate over travel bans and the implementation of the PNIL against political figures.
