Repatriation of Afghan Refugees from Pakistan Continues, Over 1.5 Million Sent Home

The repatriation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan continues at an accelerated pace, with thousands returning to Afghanistan daily under government-supervised procedures.

According to official sources, 10,700 Afghan refugees were sent back to Afghanistan in a single day through the Chaman border crossing. The repatriation process has now also begun from the Torkham border, marking a new phase in the return operation.

Sources said that so far, approximately 1.56 million Afghan refugees have returned to their homeland. The authorities are verifying the documents of each individual before allowing them to cross the border to ensure the process remains legal and transparent.

Officials confirmed that the Frontier Corps (FC) and civil administration have made special arrangements for food and temporary accommodation for the refugees during their transit.

The Pakistani government has emphasized that the repatriation is being carried out in a systematic and humane manner, following the legal framework established for the return of undocumented Afghan nationals.

The ongoing operation comes as part of Islamabad’s broader policy to regulate its borders and manage the long-standing issue of undocumented refugees, while also maintaining stability and security along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier.
