POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has formally requested that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) involve it in significant policy decisions regarding Punjab, following mounting tensions between the two parties.
Sources revealed that there have been mutual complaints between the PPP and PML-N. The PPP has voiced concerns about being sidelined in crucial decisions, including those related to subsidies on power bills. The party's frustration was evident when they suggested that if the PML-N continued to exclude them from key decisions, they might consider sitting separately in Punjab's political arena.
Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb had previously assured PPP lawmakers that they would receive equal funds as their PML-N counterparts. However, issues remain unresolved regarding the allocation of funds to PPP candidates and leaders across 36 constituencies.
In light of these tensions, the coordination committee has deferred discussions on other significant matters until their next meeting, leaving many issues pending and exacerbating the current political discord.
