POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi's Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has officially withdrawn from the PS 129 seat, asserting that Saif Bari, an independent candidate, emerged victorious.
In a press conference, Rehman expressed confidence in relinquishing the seat, emphasizing the need for fair results based on Form 45.
Alleging widespread rigging, he claimed that the election process was compromised, with Jamaat-e-Islami previously warning about the acquisition of election boxes by the People's Party and MQM.
Rehman criticized the delayed start of polling in several Karachi stations and accused the Election Commission of depriving people of their voting rights.
The counting process, he stated, commenced at 5 pm, with subsequent delays in providing Form 45 and 46, reinforcing the party's stance on the election's legitimacy.
