In a sanitization operation in Balochistan's Mazaaband Range on Thursday, the security forces killed eight terrorists, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
After the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) proclaimed the end of the truce in November of last year, terrorism has returned to the nation.
A security force convoy was ambushed by terrorists on Wednesday night in the Balochistan district of Kech, according to a statement from the military's media arm.
The statement added, "Although alert and combat-ready troops not only prevented any casualties from this heinous attempt, they also quickly started a follow-up operation to track down the fleeing terrorists using ground and aviation assets."
The ISPR also vowed that the security forces will continue to thwart any attempt by inimical elements, on the behest of hostile intelligence agencies, to disrupt hard-earned peace in the province.
Earlier today, a counter-terrorism department (CTD) of the police claimed to have killed at least six terrorists in the Dadowala area of Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during an operation.
