No. Not Debatable.

Kalabagh Damned! Should debate over construction of Kalabagh dam end now?

Hold your horses critiques, we are not against solving the water crises, but when there is no consensus for so many years, maybe we need to see beyond it now.

“Beyond Kalabagh dam is what we mean” This episode is second episode of a series "No. Not Debatable". The series will revolve around how some debates in Pakistan should end now, we need to learn some lessons from history, we need to start thinking like a federation, we should, rather, we need to move forward, and we should do it quickly. Whenever there is less water, we debate over whether Pakistan should again consider constructing Kalabagh Dam, and then there is no consensus, but inspite of solving the water crises we just look the other way and wait few years for catastrophe and start the same debate. Again, when there is a lot of water or a flood like situation hothead politicians and media personals will start the debate whether Pakistan should consider constructing Kalabagh dam to save water, funny! We are in a loop of destruction, because water management is no joke, its nature, and anything against nature will come and bit us in our a** as the climate change suggest. We need to solve water crises and we need to do it quickly, and if every time we are going to quarrel over dams or no dams, we will be damned. In this episode, our esteemed expert is Mr. Ayaz Latif Palejo, who is renowned lawyer, civili and political activist and President of Qoumi Awami Tehrik, he has been fighting for Sindh’s rights for many years, and he will continue to do so. We put forth questions whether there is any outcome of this debate? should we still continue to have this debate? Should debate over constructing kalabagh dam end now? To the people who argue over how technically sound project of Kalabagh dam is, for the people who argue how beneficial Kalabagh dam is as described in video by Mr. Ayaz Latif Palejo in a perfect analogy, everything is perfect, Kalabagh dam is amazing, we will have all the fruits, all the great agriculture, but the people for whom the dam will be constructed will die. In short, we don't have another option, what we have is what we have to make do with. We need to move on and we need to move on quickly, we can't just have debate over things, which are settled and obsolete.
