The Captured Economy of Pakistan| Dr. Kaiser Bengali|

One of the excellent and slim book written by Brink Lindsey and Steven Teles - The Captured Economy: How the Powerful Enrich Themselves, Slow Down Growth, and Increase Inequality.

Brink Lindsey is a political scientist at John Hopkins and Teles is former director of the Open Society Project at the Niskanen Center. They argue that poeple in power and high income corrupt individuals along with big businesses have rewritten the 'rules' of economy so as to benefit them, and thereby they have captured the whole system to increase their wealth and squeeze out competition. Hence the result is both greater inequality and a broken economy. Dr. Kaiser Bengali need no introduction, he has proved himself to be one of the few remaining leading economist in Pakistan, with a massive 40 years of experience in policy making. He is still serving on different boards of conglomerates across the country. Pakistan has continuous battles to fight, one stronger than the other, but what we are known for is that we are resilient and hopefully will learn from mistakes rather than keep living in denial.
