Mob Kills Man Over Alleged Desecration of Holy Quran in Swat's Madyan Area

A tragic incident unfolded in the Madyan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swat district on Thursday night, resulting in the death of a man who was accused of desecrating the Holy Quran.

The unrest left eight people injured, according to Swat District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Zahidullah.

The DPO explained that the police had initially moved the suspect to the police station for his safety. However, a charged mob attacked the station, forcibly taking the suspect away.

"People set fire to the police station and a mobile vehicle," Dr. Zahidullah stated, adding that the suspect was subsequently torched by the mob.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident, and a heavy police force has been deployed in Madyan to manage the tense situation and prevent further violence.
