Adiala Jail Seeks Special Security for Imran Khan’s April 15 Court Appearance

Adiala Jail authorities have formally requested enhanced security arrangements from the Islamabad Police for the upcoming court appearance of PTI founder Imran Khan scheduled for April 15.

The request follows orders issued by Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majuka, directing that Imran Khan be produced before the court in connection with several pending cases, including attempt to murder, fake receipts, and other bail-related matters.

According to official sources, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail has written a letter to the Islamabad Police, urging deployment of special guards and enhanced security measures to ensure safe transport and court proceedings.

The letter emphasizes the high-profile nature of the accused and the potential security challenges involved in his transfer from Adiala Jail to the court premises.

This request comes amid heightened political tensions, with PTI maintaining that the legal proceedings against its founder are politically motivated. Imran Khan has been incarcerated at Adiala Jail since August 2023 and is facing multiple charges under various criminal and anti-corruption laws.

Authorities have yet to publicly disclose the exact security plan, but sources confirm that a multi-tier security cordon is likely to be enforced during his court appearance.

The hearing on April 15 is expected to be significant, as it could impact the progress of several legal cases currently pending against the former prime minister.
