The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Peshawar has issued an arrest order for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Arbab Waseem in connection with the May 9 attack on the Radio Pakistan building. The court, under the chairmanship of Judge Wali Muhammad Khan, made the ruling after the prosecution presented its case.
The prosecution officials informed the court that MPA Arbab Waseem, along with other accused, was involved in the attack on Radio Pakistan, during which the building was set on fire. The trial against the accused was initiated after a thorough investigation was completed.
Despite the prosecution’s claims, the accused, including Arbab Waseem, failed to appear before the court. As a result, the court issued arrest warrants for five individuals, including Waseem, and ordered that they be presented at the next hearing.
The case of the attack on the Radio Pakistan building is one of many arising from the violent incidents that occurred across the country on May 9. The court’s decision to issue arrest orders underscores the legal steps being taken to hold individuals accountable for the destruction and violence that took place during that period.
