Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov recognized Pakistan's crucial role in maintaining regional stability during a meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir. The meeting took place at the Rawalpindi General Headquarters (GHQ) and involved discussions on various matters of mutual interest, including regional peace and stability.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed that the COAS and FM Bayramov engaged in extensive talks during the meeting, emphasizing the enduring fraternal ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. General Munir reiterated Pakistan's unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive assistance and cooperation in defense and security matters.

The ISPR further highlighted General Munir's praise for the exemplary professionalism and valor of the Azerbaijani armed forces. In response, FM Bayramov expressed sincere appreciation for Pakistan's steadfast support to Azerbaijan and acknowledged its pivotal role in maintaining stability in the region.

FM Bayramov's visit to Pakistan commenced on Wednesday night and included delegation-level talks aimed at enhancing bilateral investment, particularly in the energy sector. Both countries reiterated their commitment to strengthening strategic relations during a joint press conference following the talks.

During his visit, FM Bayramov also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where they discussed the need for further cooperation across various sectors. Earlier this month, President Asif Ali Zardari met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and COP29 President-designate, Mukhtar Babayev, signaling the importance of bilateral relations between the two nations.

Azerbaijan is set to host the 29th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku in November, a development that underscores the growing significance of Azerbaijan's role on the global stage.
