Cement Sales and Exports Decline in Pakistan Amid Slow Industry Growth

Pakistan’s cement industry has reported a decline in domestic sales and exports during the current fiscal year, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).

Domestic Sales: In the first five months of FY2025-26, 21.3 million tons of cement were sold in the country, marking an 11% decrease compared to 19.19 million tons in the same period last year. November sales reached 3.94 million tons, down 7% from 4.24 million tons in November 2024.

Exports: Cement exports also experienced a decline, with 3.95 million tons exported in the first five months, down 2% from 4.24 million tons in the same period last year. November exports were 0.54 million tons, representing a sharp 33% decline from 0.80 million tons in November 2024.

Industry experts attribute the slowdown to weaker domestic demand, rising costs, and global market fluctuations affecting export volumes. The decline signals challenges for the construction sector, which remains a key driver of economic activity in the country.

The cement industry continues to monitor demand trends and export markets closely, seeking strategies to stabilize sales amid challenging economic conditions.
