Faisal Chaudhry: Imran Khan Committed to Law and Constitution, Ready to Stay in Jail for Justice

Following the conviction of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the high-profile £190 million reference case, PTI’s lead lawyer Faisal Chaudhry spoke to the media outside Adiala Jail. Chaudhry relayed Imran Khan’s steadfast commitment to upholding the rule of law and the constitution, asserting that the former prime minister is prepared to remain in jail as long as necessary for justice.

In his statement, Chaudhry said, "Imran Khan has always believed that the country should be governed by law and the constitution, and he is ready to stay in jail for as long as it takes." This shows Imran Khan’s continued determination despite the legal challenges he faces following his sentencing.

Regarding Bushra Bibi’s fate, Faisal Chaudhry confirmed that she would soon be transferred to a cell within Adiala Jail. He also relayed Bushra Bibi’s unwavering support for her husband, emphasizing that she stands firmly with Imran Khan and will continue to do so through this challenging time.

Chaudhry expressed confidence in the future, declaring, "We will win this match. This is a battle of justice and fairness, and Imran Khan will emerge victorious."

The accountability court had delivered its verdict earlier in the day, sentencing Imran Khan to 14 years in prison and Bushra Bibi to 7 years in connection with the £190 million reference tied to the Al-Qadir Trust University. The case, which has drawn significant public and media attention, continues to be a pivotal point in the ongoing legal and political saga surrounding PTI’s leadership.
