The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible hailstorms in Karachi starting tomorrow, issuing a weather alert for the city and other parts of Sindh.
According to the department, a westerly weather system is expected to enter the southwestern areas of Balochistan, which will likely bring rain to several districts including Karachi, Jamshoro, Dadu, Larkana, and Qambar Shahdadkot from today through April 4.
The forecast also includes rainfall in other regions such as Sukkur, Khairpur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Matiari, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Badin, Thatta, and Hyderabad.
Officials stated that Karachi may experience light rain or drizzle today, followed by thunderstorms on Thursday. Some areas are expected to receive moderate rainfall accompanied by hail, while others could see heavy downpours and intense hailstorms.
The Meteorological Department warned that strong winds, lightning, and hail could cause damage to infrastructure, including electricity poles, solar panels, and billboards. Standing crops may also be affected due to severe weather conditions.
Residents have been advised to take precautionary measures, avoid unnecessary travel during storms, and stay updated with official advisories.
