Imran Khan's Sisters Arrested During PTI Protest at D-Chowk

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests in the capital, Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, were arrested at D-Chowk by law enforcement officers on Friday. The PTI protests, held against the “illegal” imprisonment of party founder Imran Khan and other political grievances, have led to widespread clashes between the protesters and the police at various points in Islamabad.

According to reports, the police apprehended Aleema and Uzma Khan during the escalating confrontation at D-Chowk. Both sisters were seen being escorted into a police van before being transferred to the Women Police Station for further detention.

As they were being taken into custody, a journalist on the scene asked Aleema Khan for a comment. In a calm but defiant tone, she simply responded, "If you want to arrest, then arrest."

The PTI protest at D-Chowk is part of a broader campaign across the country, with the party demanding the release of Imran Khan and criticizing the government's policies. Earlier, tensions rose as the police used force to disperse the crowds, leading to the arrests of several PTI workers, including prominent figures like Aleema and Uzma Khan.

The protests have caused significant disruption in the capital, with security forces blocking major roads and public spaces to prevent further escalation. Law enforcement officials have stressed that they are committed to maintaining order and ensuring the safety of foreign dignitaries visiting Islamabad for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

PTI leaders, however, remain undeterred, with many vowing to continue their protest despite the arrests and heavy police presence. Clashes between PTI supporters and law enforcement continue to erupt in various parts of the capital, leaving the situation tense and volatile.

Aleema and Uzma Khan’s arrest marks a dramatic turn in the ongoing political unrest, further intensifying the standoff between the government and PTI supporters.
