Iranian President Condemns U.S. and European False Promises Over Ceasefire

Iranian President Masoud Al-Mabikian, in a recent address to his cabinet, accused American and European officials of making false promises regarding a ceasefire if Iran refrained from responding to the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, a senior leader of Hamas.

The president’s remarks were reported by Iran's official news agency following the Israeli airstrike that led to the death of Lebanese resistance leader Hassan Nasrallah. President Al-Mabikian condemned the attack and stated that Israel’s actions have shown a blatant disregard for international laws and regulations.

"American and European authorities promised a ceasefire if Iran did not retaliate for the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, but these promises were nothing but lies," President Al-Mabikian said. He further emphasized that granting amnesty to Israel for its crimes would only embolden it to commit further atrocities.

In his cabinet address, the president reiterated Iran’s unwavering support for Hezbollah, particularly in its ongoing conflict with Israel. He noted, “I made it clear during an interview with an American TV channel that Hezbollah will not stand alone in this war, and this stance remains unchanged.”

The Iranian president's statements come amidst increasing tensions in the region following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran earlier this year. Calls for retaliation have echoed across Iranian leadership, with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei also declaring that Iran is obligated to avenge Haniyeh’s martyrdom.

Iranian authorities continue to issue strong warnings to Israel, with fears escalating of a broader regional conflict involving Hezbollah and other allied groups in Lebanon.
