Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, addressed the recent high-profile murder of TikToker Sana Yousuf, which had created widespread concern across the capital.
At a press conference, IG Rizvi disclosed that Sana Yousuf was fatally shot twice inside her home near Sumbal police station on June 2 at around 5 pm. The investigation swiftly focused on identifying the accused and uncovering the motive behind this tragic incident.
To crack the case, the police formed seven different teams that conducted 11 raids and reviewed footage from 130 CCTV cameras. Extensive search operations extended to Faisalabad, where three raids were executed, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.
The IG confirmed the accused is a resident of Faisalabad. It was revealed that the suspect attempted to destroy evidence by making Sana’s mobile phone disappear and misleading authorities regarding the murder’s circumstances. However, police recovered both the weapons used and the victim’s mobile from the accused.
Describing the case as challenging, IG Rizvi praised the dedication and hard work of the investigation teams that led to the swift arrest, ensuring progress toward justice for Sana Yousuf.
