Jaffer Express Attack: Survivors Recall Harrowing Ordeal Amid Terrorist Gunfire

Survivors of the deadly attack on Jaffer Express in Balochistan have shared chilling details of their ordeal. The attack, which left several passengers injured, saw the swift intervention of Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (FC), rescuing many who were trapped.

Terror Strikes: Survivors’ Accounts

One passenger recalled the horrifying moment when the attack began:

"As soon as the explosion occurred, a group of armed men stormed in and began firing directly at passengers, forcing them to exit the train. They shot at anyone they wanted without hesitation."

Another wounded passenger shared the struggle for survival:

"We were stuck there for nearly 30 to 35 hours, surviving only on water. We even drank from the train’s washroom to stay alive."

A relieved survivor credited the Pakistan Army for their safe escape, saying:

"If it weren’t for the Pakistan Army, we wouldn’t have made it out alive. We were terrified, but with God’s help, we are now safely home."

The Moment of Attack

Another eyewitness detailed the attack’s timeline:

"The attack happened at 12:50 PM on Tuesday when we were near Machh, just an hour away from Sibi."

Describing the chaos, another passenger said:

"There was screaming everywhere. We all dropped to the floor to save ourselves, but then came more gunfire and explosions. The terrorists ordered everyone to step out. Some hesitated, but I decided to take my children and leave. I feared that if we didn’t, they would enter and start shooting inside."

He further revealed how he managed to escape:

"After stepping out, they let me, my wife, and my children go but warned us not to look back. We kept walking and eventually fell into a canal. After four hours of continuous walking, we reached a safe location."

Bravery of the Train Driver & Military Response

Jaffer Express driver Amjad Yasin, who miraculously survived the attack, told the media:

"The bomb blast derailed the train, and then the attackers started firing at the engine. We crouched down to stay safe. We were stuck inside the engine for nearly 27 to 28 hours before the Pakistan Army launched their rescue operation and successfully completed it."

Conclusion

The attack on Jaffer Express highlights the persistent threat of terrorism in Pakistan. While the swift response of the Pakistan Army and security forces saved many lives, this tragedy underscores the urgent need for stronger security measures to protect civilians from such brutal assaults.
