POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Senior Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi has predicted a major political shift in Pakistan within the next three months, citing a potential PTI-led movement, the 27th constitutional amendment, or a change in the presidency as possible catalysts.
Speaking to media at the residence of Advocate Irfan Jatoi, a central figure in the Sindh Abadgar Board, Jatoi said:
“The months of August, September, and October will be crucial. A movement might emerge or constitutional amendments might be introduced. Either way, change is inevitable.”
He hinted at behind-the-scenes discussions within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating that there are uncertainties about the founder’s role and rumors of his sons returning to Pakistan.
“At times we hear PTI is talking to the establishment, then we hear the opposite,” Jatoi remarked.
While stressing that his opposition to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was ideological, not personal, he held PPP responsible for the deterioration of governance in Sindh since 2008.
“The damage Sindh has suffered is due to PPP’s misrule,” he stated.
Jatoi also revealed that 14 cases have been filed against him in cities including Larkana, Dokri, Badah, Ranipur, Sukkur, and Naushahro Feroze, but said he was facing them legally and without fear.
“Difficulties come in the struggle for truth and justice. Ups and downs are part of politics,” he added.
His remarks have added weight to growing political speculation over the coming months, especially amid discussions on the 27th Amendment, PTI’s potential resurgence, and reshuffling at the top levels of power.
