POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
The Karachi Deputy Commissioner East has granted permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally at Bagh-i-Jinnah, officials confirmed on Saturday.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon stated that the NOC was issued with specific conditions aimed at ensuring peace and public safety. Organizers are required to:
- Avoid provocative speeches, sectarian discussions, or remarks against the country and state institutions.
- Maintain smooth traffic flow in and around the venue.
- Conclude the rally before the scheduled end time.
Memon also emphasized that the district administration retains the authority to revoke the permission if security concerns arise during the event.
The PTI rally comes amid ongoing political mobilization ahead of nationwide street movements and rallies in Sindh, with the party seeking to galvanize support in Karachi ahead of the planned February 8 protests.
