POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a stern warning regarding the rising tensions between Pakistan and India, stating that any aggression from India will be met with a full-scale response. Asif emphasized that the conflict between the two nuclear-armed countries has the potential to escalate into a full-scale war, which could have devastating consequences.
In an interview with British TV channel Sky News, Asif rejected the accusation that Pakistan was involved in the recent attack in Pahalgam, occupied Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists. The New Delhi government had blamed Pakistan for the incident, but Asif termed the attack a "false flag operation" orchestrated by India to serve its own political agenda.
As tensions between Pakistan and India mount, the Defense Minister expressed concern over the possibility of a full-scale conflict, urging the international community to take the potential for a nuclear war seriously. However, Asif also expressed hope that the issue could be resolved through diplomatic negotiations.
“We are ready for any situation. The Pakistani army is prepared to deal with any eventuality,” Asif said, further adding, “If there is a full-scale attack, there will be a full-scale war.”
Asif's comments come amid rising military confrontations and accusations of cross-border terrorism. He emphasized that Pakistan would respond to any Indian aggression in a "measured" manner, but warned that the consequences of continued hostilities between the two nations could be disastrous for regional and global stability.
The Defense Minister also reiterated that Pakistan will give a "befitting reply" to any Indian attack, stating that any military adventure by India would be met with a comprehensive response. Asif's remarks highlight the fragile nature of relations between the two countries, both of which possess nuclear weapons, making the situation even more critical.
