Khawaja Saad Rafique, senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former federal minister, was admitted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday.
According to hospital sources, Khawaja Saad Rafique was immediately shifted to the emergency room, where doctors conducted initial examinations and tests. Given the severity of the situation, the medical team performed an urgent angioplasty, successfully inserting a stent in the affected artery.
The hospital administration confirmed that due to the timely medical intervention, Rafique’s condition is now stable, and his health is steadily improving.
Medical officials said he will remain under close observation at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology for the next few days to ensure proper recovery.
Family members and PML-N leaders have appealed to the public for prayers for his speedy recovery. Party officials expressed gratitude for the swift response of the medical team, which prevented further complications.
