A local court in Karachi has extended the physical remand of Armaghan, the prime accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case, for another seven days.
During the hearing, the defense lawyer opposed the extension, arguing that the vehicle, body, and murder weapon had already been recovered, making further remand unnecessary. However, the prosecution countered that the accused had encrypted crucial evidence, necessitating further investigation.
The investigating officer revealed that Armaghan had relocated his call center from Karachi to Skardu and later called his father to Skardu as well. The police report stated that after the murder, Armaghan informed his father, who advised him to hide.
During the proceedings, the judge inquired whether the accused had been subjected to police violence. Armaghan remained silent and did not shake his head in response. The court also allowed the accused to meet his parents for five minutes before extending his physical remand by another 7 days.
Background of the Case:
Mustafa Amir was kidnapped on January 6, 2025, and a month later, on February 8, police raided a bungalow in DHA Khayaban-e-Momin, Karachi, to recover him. During the operation, the accused opened fire, injuring three police officers, including a DSP.
The police arrested Armaghan, who later confessed that he and his accomplice Shiraz had placed Mustafa in the trunk of a car and set it on fire. Investigations into the case are still ongoing.
