OGRA Cuts Sui Gas Prices: SSGCL Down 8%, SNGPL Down 3% for FY 2025-26

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved new gas prices for the financial year 2025-26, reducing the average price of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGCL) by 8% and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) by 3%.

According to OGRA, the average price for SNGPL has been fixed at Rs 1804.08 per MMBTU after a 3% reduction, while the average price for SSGCL will be Rs 1549.41 per MMBTU following an 8% reduction.

The authority stated that the new pricing was calculated after re-evaluating gas demand, optimizing expenses and income of the gas companies, and factoring in the delayed cargo of Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL), benefitting consumers. Adjustments of Rs 13.565 billion for SNGPL and Rs 47.315 billion for SSGCL were also included in the calculation.

OGRA further noted that consultation with the federal government was conducted to finalize category-wise gas prices. The new rates will be officially notified soon; until then, the existing prices will remain in effect.

The regulator emphasized that the reduction aims to provide relief to consumers, maintain transparency, and ensure financial balance for gas companies, while keeping energy prices reasonable for both households and industries.
