POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub has strongly criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent address, suggesting that Modi still does not fully grasp regional dynamics, especially concerning China.
In a sharply worded statement, Omar Ayub recalled PTI founder Imran Khan’s prediction made four years ago, in which he warned that India would eventually conduct a false flag operation and unjustly blame Pakistan.
“Modi’s address clearly shows that he has not yet fully understood China,” said Omar Ayub. “If he has the courage, fascist Modi should fulfill his desire to attack Pakistan again. The entire Pakistani nation and its armed forces will unite and respond with full force.”
The criticism comes in the wake of Modi’s national address, in which the Indian prime minister termed the recent Pahalgam incident an atrocity and reiterated India’s long-standing allegations against Pakistan — a stance Islamabad has repeatedly rejected as baseless and politically motivated.
Observers noted that Modi appeared "off-color" during his address, a possible sign of pressure amid rising internal and external tensions following the deadly escalation with Pakistan earlier this month.
Omar Ayub’s remarks reflect growing concern within Pakistan’s political leadership about India’s rhetoric and the potential for another provocation under the guise of national security.
“As a sovereign state, Pakistan is fully prepared to defend its borders and people. Any aggression will be met with a decisive and united response,” the opposition leader reiterated.
The statement adds to a series of strong responses from Pakistani politicians following the recent escalation that included cross-border missile strikes and civilian casualties. International mediators, including the United States, have since intervened to restore calm between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
