Opposition Alliance to Challenge Supreme Court's Decision in Mubarak Sani Case

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam (F), has announced that the opposition alliance will file a reference against three Supreme Court judges, including the Chief Justice, concerning the controversial Mubarak Sani case. This announcement followed a crucial All Parties Conference (APC) held in Islamabad.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the Supreme Court’s recent decision in the Mubarak Sani case, alleging that it facilitates the Qadiani community in a manner that undermines the protection of the end of Prophethood as enshrined in the Pakistani Constitution. He argued that the court's ruling contravenes the constitutional and legal framework designed to safeguard Islamic principles and the end of Prophethood.

The APC declaration, endorsed by various opposition leaders, demands that the Supreme Court revisit and clarify its decision to remove ambiguities related to the Qadiani community. Rehman contended that the ruling permits actions and representations by the Qadianis that distort Islamic teachings and constitutional norms, an issue he believes cannot be ignored.

The opposition also expressed concerns over international pressure and its impact on Pakistan's Islamic identity. They accused global forces of backing the Qadiani community, further complicating the religious and political landscape in Pakistan.

Hafiz Nasiruddin Khakwani of the World Council of Protection of Khatami also spoke, emphasizing the importance of upholding the issue of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat (End of Prophethood) and condemning Mirza Qadiani and his followers.

The APC has vowed to announce a detailed action plan on Victory Day, September 7, at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. This action plan will outline their strategy moving forward and demonstrate their commitment to addressing their grievances regarding the judiciary and constitutional protections.
