The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has reported that overseas Pakistanis remitted $3.1 billion in August 2025, marking a 7 percent year-on-year increase, though slightly down by 1 percent compared to July.
According to SBP data, remittances during the first two months of the current fiscal year (July–August 2025) stood at $6.4 billion, compared to $5.9 billion during the same period last year — reflecting stronger inflows.
In terms of country-wise breakdown, Saudi Arabia remained the top source, contributing $736.7 million in August alone. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) followed with $642.9 million, while $463.4 million came from the United Kingdom and $267.3 million from the United States.
The consistent growth in remittances highlights the critical role of overseas Pakistanis in supporting the country’s external account and providing stability to the national economy.
