Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting on energy sector reforms and issued key directives to improve Pakistan’s electricity system. During the meeting, the premier emphasized reducing line losses, improving power transmission, and enhancing services for both domestic and industrial consumers.
He instructed authorities to modernize the power transmission system using advanced technology to ensure efficient and reliable electricity supply. The prime minister highlighted the importance of promoting modern technology in the energy sector and stressed the need to expand renewable energy projects to address long-term power shortages.
PM Shehbaz also called for a comprehensive strategy to stabilize electricity prices and directed officials to improve digital payment systems to facilitate consumers in bill payments. He further ordered strict action against electricity theft, saying reforms in the energy sector should benefit both the public and industry.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers and senior officials, who also presented recommendations regarding electricity consumption and improvements in the sector
