PML-N President Nawaz Sharif Moves to Disqualify Adil Bazai for Opposition to Constitutional Amendment

PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has initiated proceedings against Adil Bazai, a member of the National Assembly from Quetta, for his dissent regarding the recent constitutional amendment. The Speaker of the National Assembly has been requested to declare Bazai's seat vacant, citing his lack of support for the amendment.

Adil Bazai, who contested the NA 262 seat as an independent candidate, later joined the PML-N. Despite his affiliation with the ruling party, he has been frequently seen sitting with the opposition and openly criticizing the government.

The reference sent by Nawaz Sharif highlights the party's intolerance for dissent, particularly in light of the ongoing political turmoil surrounding the constitutional amendment. The Speaker has called on the Election Commission to declare Bazai ineligible, which could result in a vacancy for his seat in the National Assembly.

As tensions rise within the PML-N, this move may set a precedent for how the party handles dissent among its members and could impact its cohesion moving forward.
