PMYP Chairman Predicts Pakistan Will Exit IMF by June 2026

Prime Minister Youth Program (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has expressed confidence that Pakistan will exit the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program by June next year.

Speaking at a ceremony in London, Rana Mashhood criticized the economic conditions imposed on Pakistan in 2018, stating they had set the country back several years. He said the Prime Minister responsible for triggering inflation and poverty was legally removed, adding that conspiracies had been aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.

He further spoke about political accountability, saying that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif faced over 250 appearances in courts, yet all cases against him were eventually proven false. “Those who raised slogans of absolute power did not sit at his feet again,” he added.

Addressing the opposition, Rana Mashhood questioned PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s reluctance to face legal proceedings, referencing the Ghari case as “an open and shut matter.”

He concluded by contrasting the current government’s approach with that of PTI’s founder, stating that during PTI’s tenure, “no one asked about Pakistan, while many countries supported us in the war.”

Rana Mashhood’s remarks come amid rising debates over Pakistan’s economic recovery and IMF obligations, as the country seeks to stabilize its finances and reduce dependence on external loans.
