POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Unofficial and unconfirmed results continue to pour in after polling concluded for by-elections across 28 seats in 14 districts of Sindh. In Sehwan’s Bhan Syedabad town committee, results for two wards have been announced.
According to the initial count, PPP candidate Abdul Karim Memon won from Ward 1 with 353 votes. Sindh United Party’s Ali Raza Channa followed closely, securing 302 votes.
In Ward 5, PPP’s Abdul Basit Memon emerged victorious with 485 votes, while Sindh United Party’s Muhammad Safar Bhand stood second with 128 votes. Independent candidate Sarwar Shoro came in third place with 43 votes.
The results reflect PPP’s continued influence in the Sehwan region, though a competitive showing from the Sindh United Party highlights ongoing political contestation at the local level.
Further results from the remaining constituencies in Sindh are expected as counting continues.
