Pregnant Woman, Husband & Newborn Killed in Karachi Road Tragedy

A tragic accident in Karachi’s Malir Halt area claimed the lives of a pregnant woman, her husband, and their newborn baby when a water tanker crashed into their motorcycle.

Accident Details

According to rescue officials, the victims, identified as Abdul Qayyum and his wife Zainab, were severely injured when the speeding water tanker ran over their motorcycle near the Malir Halt bus stop.

Despite emergency medical efforts, both husband and wife succumbed to their injuries, and the newborn baby, delivered after the accident, also passed away.

Public Outrage & Police Action

Following the accident, angry locals attempted to set the water tanker on fire, while the driver fled the scene. However, SSP Korangi Tariq Nawaz confirmed that the police have arrested the driver and his helper, and legal action will be taken against them.

Authorities have since restored traffic flow in the area, but the incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and road safety in Karachi.
