PTI Chairman Defends Party’s Position on India Amid Controversy

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar clarified comments made by Barrister Saif, the spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, regarding Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. Gohar asserted that Saif's remarks had been taken out of context and reiterated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party's position on India remains unchanged despite the evolving political landscape.

Gohar emphasized that no foreign dignitary, including Jaishankar, has the right to comment on Pakistan’s internal affairs. He stated, "The 70-year-old policy of the state of Pakistan towards India is the backbone of PTI's policy." This underscores the party's commitment to its long-standing principles regarding relations with India.

In his clarification, Gohar also addressed concerns about foreign interference in Pakistan's political struggles, asserting that PTI's efforts are independent of external influences. "There is no interference from any country, including India, in the political struggle of Tehreek-e-Insaf," he said.

The PTI Chairman further stressed that peaceful protests are a constitutional right for Pakistanis, reflecting the party's commitment to democratic principles and public expression.

As tensions in regional politics continue to rise, Gohar’s comments serve to reinforce PTI's position while clarifying misunderstandings surrounding the party's stance on foreign relations. The emphasis on Pakistan's long-established policy towards India highlights the importance PTI places on national sovereignty and independence in its political approach.
