POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially dissolved its district-level organization in Peshawar, according to a notification issued by the party on Saturday.
The notification states that all officials holding positions in the PTI Peshawar district organization have been relieved of their duties. The decision has been taken as part of a broader effort to restructure the party at the district level, aiming to enhance organizational performance and internal communication.
PTI's regional leadership in Peshawar confirmed that this move is intended to prepare for future political challenges and ensure better coordination at the grassroots level. A new organizational structure is expected to be announced in the coming weeks following internal consultations.
Prior to the dissolution, Irfan Saleem served as the President of PTI Peshawar, while Shahab Chamkani held the post of General Secretary.
Party sources indicate that the restructuring process is part of a larger reorganization strategy being implemented across several regions to revitalize PTI’s local units amid shifting political dynamics and internal reviews.
PTI supporters in Peshawar have reacted with mixed emotions, with some expressing concern over the disruption while others welcomed the decision as necessary for renewal and growth.
No replacement names have been announced yet, but the party leadership has assured that the new appointments will be made keeping in view performance, loyalty, and organizational discipline.
