Salman Akram Raja Calls for Regional Dialogue Amid Muslim Countries’ Conflict

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has called for a comprehensive regional dialogue to address tensions between two brotherly Muslim countries, expressing concern that the Pakistani parliament has not been taken into confidence regarding developments in the region.

Speaking to media at Adiala Road Dahgal Naka, Raja said that while PTI does not believe in the current parliament, it is important that national leaders, along with representatives from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the Afghan government, be included in discussions to find a political and economic solution.

“The war between two Muslim countries is regrettable,” he said. “Wherever decisions are being made, the nation is unaware, and the region risks continued insecurity. We must demonstrate wisdom and resolve these issues with political insight and a comprehensive economic program.”

Raja also highlighted PTI’s legal rights, noting that court rulings allow party members to meet the party founder. “We have never attacked or thrown stones,” he said. “We are ready to engage in dialogue on principle, but any suggestion to move forward by disregarding the February 8 elections will not be accepted.”

He confirmed that Achakzai Sahib and Allama Nasir Abbas have been given full authority by the PTI founder and appointed as opposition leaders within the party. “They are empowered to make the right decisions on behalf of the party,” Raja added.

The statement underscores PTI’s emphasis on a principled political approach to regional conflict, advocating for broader cooperation and dialogue among Muslim nations while emphasizing domestic transparency and participation.
