The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced an extension in the period of issuance and validity of seasonal work visas. Individuals coming to Saudi Arabia on seasonal work visas will now be allowed to stay for up to 90 days, with the option to extend the visa for an additional 90 days after the initial period ends.
This move comes as part of the Kingdom's efforts to streamline and facilitate the management of Hajj and Umrah services, particularly during the peak season. The extension provides more flexibility for companies and workers involved in serving the millions of pilgrims who visit the country for religious purposes.
However, the ministry has issued a stern warning regarding violations of the visa regulations. Companies or organizations found selling seasonal work visas will face hefty fines of up to 50,000 riyals. In addition to financial penalties, violators may also be blacklisted for five years from offering any Hajj or Umrah services. In some cases, both penalties may be imposed simultaneously, depending on the severity of the violation.
The ministry emphasized its commitment to ensuring a smooth and secure environment for pilgrims and service providers. The new regulations aim to curb any fraudulent practices and ensure that only authorized entities participate in providing services for Hajj and Umrah.
With the Hajj and Umrah seasons approaching, the ministry’s latest measures are part of broader reforms aimed at improving the overall experience for pilgrims while safeguarding the integrity of the visa issuance process.
