Senator Faisal Vawda Celebrates 27th Amendment with Sweets at Parliament

Senator Faisal Vawda arrived at the Parliament House carrying a basket of sweets, which he distributed among journalists gathered outside.

Speaking to reporters, Vawda joked, “I have come to eat sweets in advance; I will not go with the job.” He encouraged everyone to celebrate the milestone, adding that the amendment represents a strengthening of the country’s governance framework.

Vawda further remarked, “We have to further strengthen the defense line. All the things that are happening are not happening without a hitch. What will happen for this president will also happen for the future. You should eat the sweets of the 27th Amendment and prepare for the 28th.”

The senator’s playful antics came amid Senate approval of the 27th Amendment, a bill that introduces major judicial restructuring, including the creation of a Federal Constitutional Court and a redefinition of the Supreme Court’s powers.

While the amendment has drawn serious debate among legal experts and former judges, Vawda’s celebration highlighted a moment of levity in the midst of heated political discussions over the country’s judicial future.
