Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah: Pakistan Will Respond If India Builds a Dam

Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has issued a strong warning to India regarding the construction of any dams on shared rivers, saying that Pakistan will demolish any such structures if India proceeds with their construction. Speaking to the media in Karachi, Shah emphasized that while Pakistan and India are both nuclear powers, Pakistan does not seek war. However, if a conflict is forced upon the country, Pakistan will respond in kind.

Shah expressed that the leadership of Pakistan is united on national matters, particularly when it comes to defending the country. He reiterated that Pakistanis are a peaceful nation, but if war is imposed, they know how to defend their sovereignty.

The Sindh Energy Minister stated that Pakistan's National Assembly has sent a unified message that, for the security and integrity of the country, the nation stands with its military. He also noted that India has never condemned terrorism in Pakistan, adding that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has been vocal about the issue of canals from the outset.

Shah mentioned that the Sindh Chief Minister had written a letter regarding the issue of canals, expressing hope that India would not proceed with such actions. He stressed that if India decides to build a dam, Sindh would not support the federal government.
