State Bank of Pakistan Reveals Shortlisted Designs for New Currency Notes

The State Bank of Pakistan has released the results of its recent competition for new currency note designs. A total of 10 designs submitted by 9 designers have been shortlisted. Those whose designs have been selected will receive prizes as recognition for their contributions.

The shortlisted designs, chosen from numerous submissions, are described as symbolic and were selected after thorough evaluation by a committee of experts. The State Bank of Pakistan has stated that these designs will be forwarded to international designers for further input.

According to the State Bank, foreign designers will be tasked with developing the final designs based on the shortlisted entries. They will use these designs as a guide to create the final versions of the currency notes, applying their expertise to refine and finalize the designs.

The shortlisted designs include one design each for Rs 20, Rs 50, Rs 100, and Rs 1,000 notes, and two designs each for Rs 10, Rs 500, and Rs 5,000 notes. This process aims to incorporate diverse perspectives and innovative ideas into the final currency design.

The State Bank’s initiative reflects a commitment to modernizing Pakistan’s currency while engaging both local and international talent in the design process.
