A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 struck various cities across Pakistan today, causing widespread panic but, fortunately, no significant loss of life or property.

 

The earthquake’s tremors were felt in numerous cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and several other regions. The Seismological Center reported that the quake occurred at 12:28 PM, with its epicenter near DG Khan. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers.

 

In Punjab, cities such as Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kamalia, Khanewal, Bhalwal, Chiniot, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, Gujarat, Sargodha, and Jhang experienced the tremors. Other affected areas in Punjab included Sahiwal, Chichawatani, Borewala, Phulnagar, Hujra Shah Moqim, Shahkot, Sangla Hill, Talagang, and Chakwal.

 

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the quake's impact was felt in Peshawar, North Waziristan, DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Lower Dir, Malakand, Tank, and Chitral.

 

The earthquake led to widespread fear and panic among residents, with many people leaving their homes in a hurry, reciting religious prayers for safety. However, initial reports indicate that there have been no major injuries or significant damage to property as a result of the quake.
