Two Adiala Jail Head Warders Dismissed Over Corruption

Two head warders of Adiala Jail, Muhammad Arshad and Muhammad Safdar, have been dismissed from their jobs over charges of corruption and abuse of authority. The dismissal order was issued by DIG Jail Rawalpindi Region, Abdul Rauf Rana.

According to the official order, both head warders were found guilty of taking bribes from prisoners. The inquiry against them was initiated in January 2025 after multiple complaints were lodged by inmates. The dismissed officers were responsible for kitchen and search duties inside the jail.

The investigation found that Muhammad Arshad and Muhammad Safdar could not provide any evidence in their defense. As a result, strict disciplinary action was taken against them to uphold transparency and accountability within the prison system.

Authorities have emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against corruption in jails, ensuring that such misconduct is met with swift action.
