US Colleges Face Uncertainty as Trump Administration Investigates Antisemitism

Cairo, Egypt – Palestinian militant factions, including Hamas, have issued a warning against what they call "suspicious individuals" amid the first significant anti-Hamas protests in Gaza since the war began.

What happened?
Hundreds of Palestinians protested in central and northern Gaza, chanting “Hamas out”, expressing frustration over the ongoing war, food shortages, and destruction.

How did Hamas respond?
Hamas and other militant factions under the "Factions of the Resistance" umbrella have threatened punishment for what they call "collaborators" working to further Israeli interests.

Resistance groups’ statement:
"These suspicious individuals are as responsible as the occupation for the bloodshed of our people and will be treated accordingly."

Why are people protesting?
Exhaustion from war – Protesters say they want an end to the conflict and basic necessities like food and water.
Not against resistance, but against suffering – One protester from Gaza City's Shejaia neighborhood told Reuters:
"We are not against the resistance. We are against war. Enough wars, we are tired."

Israel’s reaction
The Israeli government applauded the demonstrations, seeing them as a sign of growing opposition to Hamas rule in Gaza.
More protests were expected to continue later on Thursday.
