US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its willingness to consider contributing military forces to maintain peace and order in Gaza. Speaking at a press conference at the US State Department, Rubio said Pakistan is among several countries that have raised questions about sending troops but have indicated potential participation in the Gaza Stabilization Force.
“Pakistan has offered to be part of the Gaza peace plan or at least consider it, and we are grateful for that,” Rubio said, adding that other nations are similarly seeking clarifications before formally offering their services.
Rubio emphasized the importance of an internationally acceptable and neutral force for ensuring stability in Gaza, noting that consultations are ongoing with multiple countries. He expressed confidence that there are many nations willing to participate and acceptable to all parties involved in the conflict.
The Gaza Stabilization Force is envisioned as part of broader international efforts to stabilize the region, protect civilians, and facilitate humanitarian aid amid ongoing hostilities. Rubio’s remarks signal the US’s intent to involve regional partners, including Pakistan, in multilateral peacekeeping operations in the conflict-stricken territory.
