water levels in major reservoirs across Pakistan have started to rise, bringing relief amid growing concerns over water scarcity. Over the past week, Tarbela Dam, Chashma Barrage, and Mangla Dam have all seen significant improvements in water levels.
Current Water Levels:
📌 Tarbela Dam: 1404 feet (2 feet above dead level)
📌 Chashma Barrage: 640 feet (2 feet above dead level)
📌 Mangla Dam: 1074 feet (4 feet increase)
The total usable water storage has increased by 75,000 acre-feet, reaching 1.083 million acre-feet.
Water Inflow & Outflow:
- Tarbela Dam:
🔹 Inflow: 22,200 cusecs
🔹 Outflow: 15,000 cusecs - Mangla Dam:
🔹 Inflow: 27,200 cusecs
🔹 Outflow: 15,000 cusecs - Chashma Barrage:
🔹 Inflow: 45,000 cusecs
🔹 Outflow: 23,000 cusecs
According to a WAPDA spokesperson, these improvements will help meet irrigation and power generation demands in the coming weeks.
